The Nutrition is Too Good - Chap 16.2
Yesterday, when he was filming, Kong Sandou helped him pass many levels, which made the current level a bit difficult. Rong Mian carefully selected the nail polish colours, carefully distinguishing between mint green and light blue for a long time. Finally, he slowly applied the correct color to the customer’s nails and received a three-star rating.
Then a message popped up on the top of his phone.
Traditional Chinese Medicine:
[That thing in your photo…]
On the other end, Zhong Yi seemed to be considering his words carefully. Rong Mian opened the chat window and waited for a long time before he finally sent the second half of his sentence.
Traditional Chinese Medicine:
[About that tail, did you do it voluntarily??]
Rong Mian didn’t quite understand the meaning of “voluntarily” in this sentence.
He thought for a moment and then suddenly realized that Zhong Yi was asking if he had willingly revealed his tail.
So Rong Mian earnestly explained.
Rong Mian:
[No, it’s not like that. It’s the first time I’ve encountered this situation.]
Rong Mian:
[I can’t control it.]
Rong Mian held his phone and waited for a while in front of the chat box, but Zhong Yi didn’t reply. So Rong Mian switched to another page and played games for a while.
He created a complex pattern of peach-colored nail art for a very picky customer and adorned it with sparkling rhinestones. However, Zhong Yi still hadn’t replied.
Rong Mian felt a bit tired.
He thought for a moment, said goodnight to Zhong Yi, transformed into his cat form, and slowly crawled into the pumpkin nest, curling up and falling asleep.
When he woke up and returned to his human form, he unconsciously touched his lower back and realized that what Yun Min had said was true. After a nap, his tail could actually retract.
Without delaying the progress of the crew, Rong Mian is very happy.
When he returned to the set in the morning, Shen Yan and Shi Cheng both greeted him. Rong Mian made up an excuse of stomach ache and managed to deceive them. As a result, he received affection from Shi Cheng and a pack of warm patches from Shen Yan.
Rong Mian had just finished filming the scene with Shen Yan in the morning when he saw Zhong Yi waiting for him outside the set.
“Let’s eat,” Zhong Yi said concisely.
Rong Mian followed him into the car. Xu Youyou placed the food from the insulated box on the table. Rong Mian immediately spotted two crispy chicken drumsticks placed in the center.
Rong Mian really liked eating chicken, so he symbolically took a few bites of vegetables, carefully gauged Zhong Yi’s expression, and then grabbed one of the chicken drumsticks and took a big bite.
Zhong Yi didn’t touch his chopsticks for a while.
Rong Mian, with the chicken leg in his mouth, mumbled, “Aren’t you hungry?”
Zhong Yi paused, looked at him for a moment, and then averted his gaze, saying, “You can eat it all.”
Rong Mian nodded in response and continued quietly swallowing the chicken leg.
Zhong Yi had another sleepless night last night.
This kid was quite straightforward in admitting that he went to meet guests, but when it came to the matter of the tail in the photos, he phrased it more tactfully.
However, Zhong Yi knew in his heart that when he said he “couldn’t control himself,” it meant that he was being forced.
The fact that he would send these kinds of photos to himself, whether it was because he had some ulterior motive or truly believed that it didn’t matter to him anymore, Zhong Yi saw it as a cry for help. His conscience wouldn’t allow him to just sit back and do nothing.
So Zhong Yi abruptly asked, “Does your company require you to meet guests?”
Rong Mian felt that Zhong Yi seemed quite interested in his involvement with guests.
The chicken had a slightly salty taste, so Rong Mian slowed down his eating speed.
He thought for a moment and said, “Actually, when I’m filming, I don’t really need to meet guests. But because I don’t have my own place, I have to go back and stay with everyone on the weekends, and sometimes I’m also asked to accompany some guests.”
“It’s not too tiring,” he added.
“And most of the guests are actually quite nice.”
Rong Mian continued, “However, only a small portion of them have a little… “
“That’s enough.”
Zhong Yi couldn’t bear to listen anymore.
From what he gathered, it seemed like this small company didn’t even have separate apartments for their artists. It was probably a dormitory where the junior artists lived together, making it convenient for the company to keep an eye on them at all times.
Zhong Yi took a deep breath.
Zhong Yi: “Kid, I have a question for you.”
Rong Mian felt that something was off in the atmosphere. He swallowed the meat in his mouth and slowly put down the chicken leg bone in his hand.
Zhong Yi: “Is the chicken leg tasty?”
Rong Mian: “Yes, it is.”
Zhong Yi asked: “Am I a good person?”
Rong Mian stared at him blankly and replied, “Yes.”
Zhong Yi asked again: “Do you not want to take guests?”
Rong Mian seemed a bit perplexed about the connection between these sentences. He hesitated for a moment as he looked at Zhong Yi before quietly saying, “…I think so.”
“Is it because as long as you don’t return to your company dormitory?”
Zhong Yi said, “You won’t have to take guests anymore.”
The term “company dormitory” made Rong Mian ponder for a while. He felt that Zhong Yi was referring to the cat café.
So Rong Mian hesitated and said, “Based on the current situation, that seems to be the case, but I—”
Zhong Yi interrupted and said, “Alright.”
“Just to clarify, everything I’m doing is to ensure the success of this drama. Don’t think too much about it,”
Zhong Yi said, “I don’t want the physical and mental state of the actors I’m working with to be affected by other factors, which could compromise the quality and progress of the drama.”
Rong Mian blinked in confusion.
“As long as you’re willing, I can immediately negotiate with your company,”
Zhong Yi said while looking at him, “At least until the completion of this drama, I can guarantee that they will give you some time—”
“Do you want to come and live with me?” Zhong Yi asked.
