The Nutrition is Too Good - Chap 17.1
After following Zhong Yi for so many years, Xu Youyou believed that she still understood his character very well.
So when Zhong Yi said he wanted to bring Rong Mian back to his own home to live together, Xu Youyou was shocked, and her newly bought disposable contact lenses almost slipped off her eyes.
These past few days, she had been preparing two lunches every day to bring to the set, and she had a vague feeling that something was not right. With this thought, it was inevitable to start thinking about some ambiguous situations.
“This child is quite pitiful.”
Zhong Yi said, “Just help out naturally, don’t overthink it.”
Although she felt that something was off, Xu Youyou knew that she shouldn’t ask any more questions.
She was also efficient in her work and directly contacted the company person in charge of Rong Mian. They exchanged WeChat contacts, had a brief and polite conversation, and arranged to meet.
Then Xu Youyou was amazed.
There were only a few places where serious discussions could take place, either at the other party’s company or in a quiet place like a café. This was the first time Xu Youyou encountered a situation where the meeting was set at a cat café.
The tone of the other person on WeChat was very polite, and Xu Youyou also liked small animals. Although she was full of doubts, she still politely agreed.
At this moment, Xu Youyou stood at the entrance of the cat café.
It was a spacious and brightly lit store, decorated in a clean and lively style. As soon as Xu Youyou entered the door, she saw two foreign young boys standing in the lobby.
They looked very similar, with blue eyes and silver-white hair. They seemed to be a pair of twins, exquisitely cute like two porcelain dolls.
The two of them each held a broom and obediently swept the floor in the cat café’s lobby.
Xu Youyou couldn’t help but think, “Are all cat café staff members this skilled now? Judging by their hair and eyes, they are probably from Northern Europe. But does this count as child labour?”
However, Xu Youyou vaguely heard the two boys speaking fluent Chinese.
One of them said, “I just heard Uncle Yun say that he’s going to give us a bath tonight. What should we do?”
The other one looked troubled as well, saying, “It’s all your fault. Yesterday, you got poop on your butt and rubbed it on me. Tonight, neither of us can escape…”
Xu Youyou: “…?”
Just as Xu Youyou was feeling confused, she heard a gentle male voice behind her say, “Hello.”
She turned around and saw a handsome man with clear and refined features standing in front of her, smiling kindly.
Xu Youyou’s mind went blank for a moment, almost mistaking it for an escaped artist from some company.
“I am Yun Min, in charge of Rong Mian,” Yun Min asked, “Are you Miss Xu?”
Two foreign little boys at the entrance curiously looked at the two of them.
One of them poked the other’s leg with a broomstick and gestured, and the other little boy understood, putting down the broomstick and ran into the room inside the cat cafe.
Xu Youyou composed herself and said, “Yes.”
She and Yun Min sat in the window seats.
First, Xu Youyou conveyed what Zhong Yi had said. The general idea was that for the quality of the play, Zhong Yi hoped the company could give Rong Mian some freedom during the filming of this play. Zhong Yi also mentioned that he would provide guidance to Rong Mian in terms of acting, and if their team needed anything, Zhong Yi’s side could also cooperate with some Weibo-related promotions, and so on.
Before coming, Xu Youyou had heard from Zhong Yi’s words that it seemed like the people in this small company were not good people.
Yun Min had just said that she was in charge, so she should be a manager or boss-like role who wouldn’t easily give in. Xu Youyou was prepared for a long battle.
But unexpectedly, Yun Min listened carefully to her words and finally nodded readily.
He smiled and agreed, “No problem, thank you. Then I’ll trouble Mr. Zhong to take care of it.”
Xu Youyou didn’t expect Yun Min to agree so casually and was momentarily stunned.
She felt a bit awkward and didn’t know what to say. Just then, a small rag doll cat in the shop suddenly walked up to Xu Youyou’s feet. It first rolled on the floor and then rubbed against Xu Youyou’s leg.
Finally, the mischievous little thing extended its paw and hooked Xu Youyou’s pants.
Xu Youyou felt her heart melting.
But Yun Min said, “Guo Sigua, let go,”
Strangely enough, as if understanding Yun Min, the little rag doll cat timidly let go of its paw. It innocently stared at Yun Min with its bright blue eyes for a while, then obediently nestled at Xu Youyou’s feet and started to sleep.
Yun Min shifted her gaze.
The two of them chatted casually for a while. Yun Min had a good way of speaking, making the conversation feel comfortable. Xu Youyou felt her heart beat a little faster.
Finally, Xu Youyou gently touched the little cat’s head next to her leg and curiously asked, “Are you familiar with these little cats? Are you a regular customer at this shop?”
Yun Min smiled at her, but didn’t say anything.
Xu Youyou realized that it was time for her to leave.
Just as Xu Youyou closed the door of the cat cafe with her bag, she seemed to faintly hear Yun Min talking to the rag doll cat, saying, “It doesn’t matter who you try to please, both of you still have to take a bath tonight…”
Kong Sandou was very sad.
“No one will bring out your pumpkin nest at night anymore.”
Kong Sandou pulled out Rong Mian’s suitcase, sniffled, and said sadly, “No one will boil mineral water for you anymore. I will have fun with everyone every night, and we can still have the late-night snacks prepared by Uncle Yun. You’ll be all alone…”
Rong Mian corrected her, saying, “It’s two people, with Zhong Yi.”
Although the main filming location and the cat cafe were in the same city, they often finished work late, and it was far to return to the cat cafe. Rong Mian needed a quiet place to read, so from the start of filming until now, both of them basically stayed in a hotel near the set.
Cats tend to have a quiet and independent temperament, while dogs are more sociable animals.
When Rong Mian was filming, she could at least talk to people, but outside the set, Kong Sandou felt lonely every day.
She only had her phone by her side. After helping Rong Mian prepare water and snacks, she would sit outside and play nail art games for a long time. Then, when Rong Mian’s scenes were finished, she would happily rush over to greet him.
Rong Mian knew that Kong Sandou was worried about him, but he also hoped that Kong Sandou could be happy.
So, in a sense, Zhong Yi was a great help this time. If they didn’t have to stay in a hotel, Kong Sandou could go back to the cat cafe every night and see their little friends, so they wouldn’t feel as lonely.
“Zhong Yi’s house is very big.”
Rong Mian thought for a moment and said, “I’ve been there. They have a garden, a large refrigerator, and beautiful cushions. Don’t worry about me, Sandou.”
Kong Sandou could only whimper as they handed the suitcase to Rong Mian and gave him a tight hug.
Zhong Yi watched from a distance. He couldn’t hear what these two were saying, but he felt that although this kid’s company wasn’t a good thing, the assistant they chose for him was quite good, at least loyal and affectionate.
