The Nutrition is Too Good - Chap 20.1
Zhong Yi remained silent for a long time.
Rong Mian felt as if he understood what he meant, so he lowered his head and softly responded, “Can I move out this weekend?”
“It’s not—”
Zhong Yi, with a splitting headache, explained, “Kid, that’s not what I meant. Actually, I don’t mind if you continue living here with me, but I really think we should discuss the matter of you taking guests again…”
“I understand.”
However, Rong Mian said, “But we really don’t need to talk about it anymore. I don’t want to trouble you any further.”
He thought for a moment, looked at Zhong Yi, and earnestly added, “Thank you.”
Zhong Yi genuinely felt upset.
In his entire life, apart from when he acted with Shi Cheng, he had never felt so powerless before.
So, the current situation is that this child is truly determined to repay debts and continue taking guests. He doesn’t even care about or cherish his own body. What’s the point of me worrying for him here? He might not even appreciate this concern.
Zhong Yi felt troubled and restless.
This dinner was interrupted halfway through by a conversation that went sour. Rong Mian stayed in the living room watching TV, feeling that the food had lost its taste and became more and more unpleasant as he continued eating.
There were still a few meatballs left in the plate, but Zhong Yi didn’t have the habit of eating leftovers.
As he hesitated whether to throw them away or put them in the refrigerator, he suddenly remembered the small, sweet and soft black cat he had encountered on the kitchen balcony when he got up to drink water in the middle of the night.
Rong Mian hugged a pillow, nestled in the living room sofa.
He slowly twisted the tassel on the pillow with his hand, staring blankly at the changing figures and lights on the TV.
Rong Mian realized that after this weekend, he might not have another chance to play with this fun tassel on the pillow, so he secretly made up his mind to watch three hours of TV tonight.
The TV was still playing an antique appraisal program, and the host inside was subtly hinting to the guest he was video chatting with, that the true value of the string beads in his hand might be three zeroes less than what he actually paid.
Rong Mian paused and took out his phone.
He edited a WeChat message to tell Kong Sandou that he had finished talking to Zhong Yi, but the conversation didn’t go well, and he might need to go back to the hotel.
Suddenly, there was a beep sound from the kitchen. Rong Mian blinked and turned around to see Zhong Yi standing in front of the microwave, reheating the leftover meatballs in the plate.
The meatballs were quickly reheated, and then Rong Mian saw Zhong Yi take out two meatballs and put them in a small familiar porcelain plate.
Rong Mian blinked again.
He watched as Zhong Yi opened the kitchen window, leaned out and looked around the garden, as if searching for something, but then seemed somewhat disappointed and withdrew.
Zhong Yi stared at the meatballs in the plate and sighed.
He thought that stray cats like this one should be quite clever. If they found food in a certain place on the first day, they would remember it and come back for more when they were hungry the next day.
Zhong Yi thought for a moment and realized that maybe he had chosen the wrong time. So, he decided to leave the plate on the balcony outside the kitchen.
He casually turned his head and happened to lock eyes with Rong Mian sitting in the living room.
Caught in the act of peeking, Rong Mian seemed momentarily stunned, then Zhong Yi saw him hastily turn his head and lower his eyelashes.
Zhong Yi let out a silent sigh in his heart.
Rong Mian felt a bit troubled.
In fact, during dinner just now, Rong Mian had already eaten more than enough and was very full.
Mainly because he was afraid that Zhong Yi would snatch the food again, so he ate too quickly at that time. As a result, there is still a bit of bloating in his stomach until now, and he feels choked.
However, just now, Rong Mian clearly saw Zhong Yi took out a small porcelain plate used to hold meatballs. It was the one he used when he fed himself sausages while he was in the garden as a cat watching flying insects, and was accidentally bumped into Zhong Yi.
Rong Mian realized that what Zhong Yi had just looking for in the garden was very likely himself.
There was no such thing as a stray cat, so if he didn’t eat it, Zhong Yi might feel disappointed when he saw untouched meatballs in the plate the next day.
Rong Mian pursed his lips.
He had never had anything to repay Zhong Yi with, and he also knew that they would probably not be able to be friends in the future. Rong Mian hoped that before leaving, he could do something to make Zhong Yi happy.
So Rong Mian returned to the house, opened the window in the bathroom, took off his clothes, and transformed back into a cat.
He skillfully jumped onto the sink, then leaped from the sink to the windowsill, and agilely jumped onto the air conditioning unit outside the window. After a few turns, he landed smoothly on the lawn in the garden.
On the small balcony outside the kitchen, Rong Mian saw the small plate containing the meatball.
Rong Mian flicked his tail, approached the plate, sniffed it, and picked up the meatball, eating it bit by bit.
The meatball has cooled down a bit, but it still tastes delicious.
Although Zhong Yi scolded him to eat a lot of vegetables, at least the dishes he made were delicious. Thinking about how lunch and dinner would return to their previous state, continuing to eat the dark onion and bell pepper sandwich made by Kong Sandou, Rong Mian felt a strong attachment and reluctance.
So he lowered his head, stuck out his tongue, and slowly licked the meat sauce off the plate, bit by bit.
Suddenly, the light in the kitchen turned on.
Zhong Yi looked at the small furry black ball in front of him and raised an eyebrow.
“I knew it.”
Zhong Yi said.
Rong Mian’s heart trembled, for a moment, he even thought that Zhong Yi said this because he had discovered something, but Zhong Yi’s expression remained calm as usual.
“I’ve been waiting for you.”
Zhong Yi slightly bent down, looking at the small creature in front of him, “I knew you would only come at midnight. Didn’t eat all day? Must be starving.”
The little black cat looked at himself with a tilted head, dumbfounded, without saying a word. Zhong Yi thought it was because the meatballs weren’t enough, so he took out a lunchbox and added another meatball for it.
Zhong Yi looked at the kitten, hesitated for a moment, but in the end, he lowered his head again and started eating in small bites.
The way this little creature eats is very well-behaved. Zhong Yi can only see its fluffy head and a pair of pointed ears.
Unexplainably, Zhong Yi was reminded of a person.
After a while, he snapped out of it, sighed, and felt a slight inexplicable unease in his heart.
However, the little black cat seemed to be full and content, and started licking its paws earnestly.
Zhong Yi reached out his hand and pinched the little cat’s ear.
This silly little round ball tilted its face upward and looked at him quietly. So Zhong Yi put both hands down and gently rubbed the little cat’s round head.
Finally, he skillfully slid down to its fluffy buttocks and gave it a gentle but firm squeeze.
The little kitten widened its eyes, and its ears shrunk in fear, instantly becoming airplane ears.
