The Nutrition is Too Good - Chap 21.1
Among the little cats accompanying guests in the cat café, Rong Mian’s attitude towards business is extremely negative, so he generally provides only two types of services.
One is to play with the guests for a while with cat toys in a perfunctory manner. Rong Mian prefers teasing cat wands made of feathers and bells, as well as candy balls made by Uncle Yun using catnip.
However, Rong Mian never feels that the guests are playing with him. On the contrary, he always thinks that he is generously accompanying humans.
The other service is to curl up into a ball and sleep next to the guests, allowing them to gently touch Rong Mian’s body and head.
However, when Zhong Yi caressed him, Rong Mian felt that the strength used was similar to that of other guests, but he sensed a different warmth rising beneath his fur.
Subsequently, a tingling and indescribable sensation spread through his blood.
And when he returned to human form, Rong Mian found that he couldn’t retract his tail anymore.
Rong Mian vaguely felt that the reason his tail couldn’t retract twice was related to Zhong Yi, but he couldn’t explain why.
Rong Mian feeling a bit sleepy, he had eaten too many meatballs that night, causing discomfort from his bloated stomach. He curled up in bed and fell into a drowsy sleep.
When he woke up, Rong Mian felt a slight heaviness in his head.
He got up and was relieved to find that his tail had retracted. Rong Mian sat on the edge of the bed for a while, feeling a sudden ache in his left molar.
Rong Mian covered his cheek and furrowed his brow.
He didn’t know why he suddenly had a toothache. He had never experienced such a situation before, and it was a kind of unbearable, persistent pain.
Rong Mian suspected that it might be because he had eaten too many meat sauce meatballs yesterday.
Kong Sandou always told Rong Mian that if he ate too much meat when in human form, he would get all sorts of strange illnesses.
Rong Mian covered his face for a while, then ran barefoot to the bathroom. He opened his mouth, leaned closer to the mirror, and stared at his teeth for a long time.
Rong Mian couldn’t figure out what was wrong, but his teeth were really hurting.
After a moment of confusion, he opened the drawer beneath the sink and rummaged through the medical kit that Kong Sandou had prepared for him. Finally, he found a pack of painkillers.
On the way to the set, the two of them remained silent and didn’t speak.
Zhong Yi thought about many things that night. He hesitated, wanting to say something, but the person next to him, Rong Mian, seemed a little down. He thought it was because the child hadn’t fully woken up yet, so he felt that now wasn’t a good time and decided to wait a bit longer.
They didn’t have the same performance in the morning, so at noon, Zhong Yi specifically asked Xu Youyou to order Japanese sushi for lunch.
Zhong Yi decided to have a good chat with Rong Mian.
He didn’t know what this child had been through before, or what exactly the person called Uncle Yun had helped him with. He only knew that this child had a strong sense of gratitude and wanted to repay the favor, but had a somewhat weak moral perspective.
Rong Mian might not mind, but Zhong Yi couldn’t just stand by and watch him continue to jump into the fire.
When Rong Mian got into the car, he noticed several boxes of fresh and beautiful sushi on the table and clearly hesitated for a moment.
“Eat,” Zhong Yi said. “Aren’t these your favorite?”
Rong Mian’s reaction seemed a bit slow.
He stared at the plates of sashimi for a while, seemingly not as excited as Zhong Yi had expected. However, he still sat across from Zhong Yi, picked up his chopsticks, and quietly said thank you after picking up a slice of salmon.
Since Zhong Yi had almost developed PTSD from eating raw fish last time, he intentionally slowed down this time.
After forcing himself to eat two pieces, Zhong Yi looked up and found that Rong Mian across from him was even slower, still stuffing the slice of salmon into his mouth sluggishly.
Last time, this person had eaten half a ton of raw fish within half an hour. This eating speed was definitely abnormal. Zhong Yi was stunned for a moment.
He pondered for a while, wondering if this child was giving him a hard time because they had argued and fallen out last night. Was that why he didn’t want to eat properly now?
“For tomorrow’s performance, do you still want me to help you with the lines?” Zhong Yi put down his chopsticks and casually asked, “The part near the wall is a bit challenging, and I can—”
Then Zhong Yi saw Rong Mian also putting down his chopsticks, his face wrinkling slightly, as if he was feeling uncomfortable.
“No need… I already, managed it myself yesterday,” Rong Mian suddenly stood up, and Zhong Yi watched as he covered his cheek and said somewhat indistinctly, “I, I need to go to the restroom first…”
Rong Mian stood in front of the sink and splashed his face with cold water.
He held his cheek and took a gentle breath. He felt that his teeth were really hurting, and even his head was throbbing.
Rong Mian was very afraid.
Because the consequences that Kong Sandou mentioned earlier are really serious, Rong Mian doesn’t know what illness he has now, and he doesn’t know if he can eat meat in the future.
He was in so much pain that even his eye sockets were slightly moist. He stared at himself in the mirror for a while, then turned on the tap and washed his face.
When he raised his body again, Rong Mian saw Zhong Yi standing behind him through the mirror.
“Let’s talk,” Zhong Yi said.
Rong Mian looked at him blankly without saying a word. Zhong Yi then spoke earnestly, “Kid, there’s no need for us to be so hostile even though we may have some differences in our values. Besides, you’re wasting food…”Zhong Yi’s words abruptly stopped.
He stared at Rong Mian’s abnormally red cheeks and suddenly felt that something was off about the boy in front of him.
Zhong Yi furrowed his brow, reached out and touched his face, asking, “What’s wrong with you?”
Rong Mian’s skin was indeed a bit hot. Feeling uncomfortable, he frowned, turned his face away from Zhong Yi’s hand, and then raised his hand to cover his cheek.
“My teeth hurt a lot, and I have a headache.”
Rong Mian hesitated for a moment, then added with sadness, “So I can’t eat anything. Actually, I really wanted to eat trout, scallops, and salmon…”
Zhong Yi was taken aback.
Rong Mian furrowed his brow, looking genuinely uncomfortable. Zhong Yi suddenly asked, “Is it the area around your wisdom tooth that hurts?”
Rong Mian nodded slowly, and Zhong Yi’s expression instantly became more serious.
As Rong Mian looked at his face, his own heart sank little by little. He asked Zhong Yi softly, “What’s wrong?”
Zhong Yi remained silent.
Because this situation sounded too familiar, Zhong Yi himself had suffered from inflamed wisdom teeth a few years ago. However, this boy now had a slight fever and seemed to be in much more pain. It appeared to be symptoms of acute inflammation.
After pondering for a while, Zhong Yi took out his phone directly.
He knew that this situation would only worsen if it was delayed. So he quickly made an appointment at the private dental clinic he usually went to. After sending the message, he looked up and saw Rong Mian’s face turn somewhat pale. Rong Mian stared at him blankly, wearing an expression as if the world had collapsed.
Zhong Yi was startled and asked, “Is it hurting that much?”
Rong Mian asked sadly, “Does this mean I can never eat meat again in the future?”
Sitting in the car, Rong Mian said loudly to Zhong Yi, “I don’t want to go to the hospital.”
Zhong Yi said, “It’s not up to you.”
“You can’t control me.”
Rong Mian said angrily, “This is my own will. I don’t want to go to the hospital, and you can’t force me to go…”
“Well, if you don’t go to the hospital, your tooth will continue to hurt, your cheek will swell up, and it will be extremely painful. You won’t even be able to open your mouth, let alone eat any fish or meat for the rest of your life.”
Zhong Yi scared him, “You won’t be able to finish filming this drama either. Your bright future will be ruined, and the efforts of the entire crew will be wasted.”
Rong Mian looked at Zhong Yi with wide eyes, then turned his face away listlessly for a while.
His tooth still hurt.
But Rong Mian really hated hospitals, very much.
