The Nutrition is Too Good - Chap 23.1
When Rong Mian cannot decide on something, he usually has two choices: to ask Kong Sandou for her opinion or to ask Yun Min for his opinion.
When Rong Mian doesn’t know what to eat, what color clothes to wear, or what color nail polish to choose when playing at a fashionable nail salon, he usually seeks help from Kong Sandou.
But at this moment, Rong Mian doesn’t know whether he should agree to Zhong Yi’s request.
He only knows that he really likes the tasseled pillows in Zhong Yi’s house, the sausages and meatballs Zhong Yi makes for him, and the time he spends with Zhong Yi.
But Rong Mian doesn’t know if he can do this because there are many guests in the cat café who care about him, like Uncle Yun. He can’t just selfishly agree without considering them.
Rong Mian couldn’t directly agree to Zhong Yi, so he told Yun Min about it.
Yun Min, who was scooping litter at the time, pondered for a while and then closed the shop.
He woke up all the cats that were sleeping, doing their business, or eating in the café, and had a serious roundtable meeting in the café’s lobby.
The last time they had such a meeting was last year to decide on the new winter drink menu for the cat café. Kong Sandou and Rong Mian had voted for the “Silk Stocking Milk Tea”, although the sales of that drink were not very optimistic in the end.
“Our companion, Rong Mian, has recently encountered some troubles,” Yun Min said. “He is unable to decide, so he wanted to ask everyone’s opinion.”
The cats on the table wagged their tails, and even the Guo family’s Ragdoll brothers, who were still being punished for mopping the floor, put down their mops.
“The first matter,” Yun Min said. “He wants to have his wisdom tooth removed.”
The cats on the table exchanged glances, and one or two of them meowed a few times in opposition. However, Kong Sandou slammed the table and firmly voted against it.
“No way!” Kong Sandou said angrily. “As carnivores, how can we afford to lose a tooth? Losing a tooth means eating will become much slower, putting us at a significant disadvantage in the natural world.”
“But when we eat in human form, we don’t even use the back tooth,” Guo Sigua interjected leisurely. “And now we don’t have to fight with others for food every day, so what disadvantage are we talking about?”
Kong Sandou struggled to find a response.
“And if the tooth really hurts, it will make it difficult to sleep.”
Rong Mian whispered, “But tooth extraction is also very painful.”
“I personally prefer short-term pain rather than long-term pain, after all, toothaches can seriously affect the quality of life.”
Yun Min nodded and said, “So it seems that the answer to the first question has already emerged, now let’s look at the second question.”
“The second matter.”
Yun Min said, “It’s still about our employee Rong Mian. He encountered a customer on the set who was very fond of him, and this customer now wants to become Rong Mian’s exclusive guest.”
Kong Sandou widened her eyes and suddenly turned to look at Rong Mian, as if she had already guessed who this customer was.
However, all the other cats in the cat cafe cast envious glances at Rong Mian.
“That’s great, it will be much easier to only accompany one guest.”
Guo Wukui sourly remarked, “If we have such high-end guests, we won’t be carried around by others anymore, and we can sleep when we want to sleep, and poop when we want to poop…”
Rong Mian also felt a sense of pride.
He thought for a moment and corrected himself based on what Zhong Yi said to him that day, “This is called a VIP guest.”
Kong Sandou was the person in the entire cat café who was least willing to let Rong Mian leave. She was so anxious that she started rubbing her hands together and, in the end, couldn’t resist pouring cold water on1 the situation, trying to make Rong Mian change his mind.
Kong Sandou: “This is a whole year, which means you have to accompany this person for an entire year, without any rest days…”
Rong Mian said, “But when I’m filming, I don’t have rest days to begin with.”
Kong Sandou paused for a moment and said, “No one will play with you anymore. You’ll only have him, a human, by your side. There won’t be any other buddies to eat with you…”
Rong Mian said, “He has a television at home, and he cooks delicious meals.”
Kong Sandou became anxious and said, “Then, he must pay a lot of money. He’s taking you away all for himself. What about the other guests who like you?”
Rong Mian said, “He said he’s willing to pay ten times the total price of all my guests.”
Kong Sandou fell silent.
“So, from the current perspective, there are no downsides.”
Yun Min smiled and said, “And Rong Mian is filming on the set, so if he were to come back to serve guests, it would indeed be inconvenient.”
“Moreover, if it’s a yearly package, we can also inform other customers using the reason that Rong Mian has found an owner, and I believe the customers would be understanding.”
Guo Wukui added.
Kong Sandou couldn’t think of any reasons to refute for a moment.
She could only turn her face away and sadly sniffed loudly.
The Guo brothers began to tap on the calculator.
The entrance fee for the cat café is fifty yuan per person. Excluding Yun Min, who doesn’t go to serve guests, there are a total of fifteen operating cats and one Kong Sandou.
The entrance fee for the cat café includes a drink, which costs around twenty yuan. Since this VIP guest won’t come to the shop, it’s not possible to provide the drink. So, even if it’s thirty yuan for three hours, it’s basically ten yuan per hour.
Rong Mian spends about six to ten hours shooting every day, excluding sleeping time. That means she has to accompany guests for five to six hours a day…
Everyone started to argue lively about how much to charge. Some said that VIP guests should be charged extra, while others said that since they have a yearly membership, some discounts should be given as a token of gratitude.
However, Yun Min smiled and said to Rong Mian, “Mianzi, come here for a moment.”
Rong Mian followed Yun Min into the room behind the cat café.
Rong Mian saw the small backpack that Yun Min was holding in her hand. Inside, there were Rong Mian’s favorite freeze-dried cat treats, a small comb that he used to groom him, and his favorite little yellow duck food bowl.
“I won’t let you bring the pumpkin nest this time. Gotta leave some memories for Sandou,” Yun Min said.
He continued, “Uncle Yun has packed your favorite snacks for you. When you’re in human form, you should eat less of these, but if you miss home or when you’re under a lot of pressure during filming, you can still have some cat treats…”
“Uncle Yun,” Rong Mian looked at Yun Min and said, “I don’t have to go.”
Yun Min replied, “He’s very nice to you, and you like him. Why don’t you want to go?”
Rong Mian pursed his lips.
“He’s strange. I was willing to let him pet me for free a long time ago, but back then, he didn’t want to touch me.”
Rong Mian was puzzled, “He used to say he didn’t like me serving guests, but now he’s willing to spend a lot of money to be my VIP guest.”
“Uncle Yun, I don’t understand,” he said.
Yun Min thought for a moment.
“Friends can also have possessiveness between them.”
Yun Min smiled and zipped up his backpack, handing it to Rong Mian. He said, “Just like how Sandou doesn’t want you to leave the cat café, perhaps as your friend, Zhong Yi also doesn’t want you to serve other guests.”
“But this possessiveness also has its limits.”
Yun Min said, “If it goes beyond this boundary, then the concept of friendship becomes blurred. Maybe you need to rethink your relationship.”
