The Nutrition is Too Good - Chap 27.1 Black Shiba Inu
This was the first time Rong Mian saw the real sea.
Before, when Rong Mian was in the cat cafe, they would often squeeze in front of the small TV at the cashier with Kong Sandou to watch TV dramas. The first time they learned about the existence of the sea was actually in a third-rate idol drama.
At that time, in the final episode, the female lead in the drama jumped into the sea to commit suicide, and Kong Sandou cried bitterly for a whole month.
From Rong Mian’s perspective, the beach is like a huge litter box, and the entire ocean is a gigantic blue container filled with many delicious fish.
Although cats are somewhat afraid of water, what they are actually more afraid of is getting their fur wet with seawater. Therefore, Rong Mian, in their human form, has no fear. They squat by the beach, staring at the sand that’s been scattered by the sea for a while. Then, they shift their gaze into the distance and start seriously contemplating whether there are enough fish in the sea to feed him for a lifetime.
Kong Sandou seems to be even more excited than Rong Mian, as if she wants to dive straight into the water.
However, Kong Sandou knows her limits in front of others. She dutifully stays by Rong Mian’s side and accompanies him throughout the day of filming. Although Rong Mian feels like her heart has already flown away with the sea breeze.
The setting of this drama is actually in a coastal town. Zhong Yi plays the role of a police officer, and Rong Mian plays the role of a genius high school student. They gradually open up to each other at the beach, discussing clues in the cases, and eventually join forces to solve them.
By the time the filming wraps up, it’s already close to dusk. Zhong Yi has been pushing a wheelchair on the beach all day and is so tired that his arms are sore and numb, making it almost impossible for him to lift them up.
He stood up and took a few breaths of the air filled with the scent of the sea, feeling an uncommon sense of joy.
When he turned his head, he saw Rong Mian squatting on the beach, obediently hugging his knees and staring at the continuously rolling waves.
Rong Mian was still wearing the high school uniform from the drama, revealing slender and fair arms. Zhong Yi saw him scoop up some seawater with his hand and bring it to his nose, curiously sniffing it.
Zhong Yi’s heart softened for a moment. He paused and asked, “What are you doing?”
“There are fish,” Rong Mian replied.
Rong Mian regretfully withdrew his hand and said, “There are many fish, but they are all very small.”
“Can you take a few photos for me? I want to send them to Uncle Yun to show him,” Rong Mian requested.
Rong Mian looked back at Zhong Yi with bright eyes and added, “Remember to capture the sea, the beach, and the coconut trees.”
As Rong Mian mentioned “Uncle Yun,” Zhong Yi remembered what Xu Youyou had told him a couple of days ago. It seemed that she hadn’t expected Zhong Yi to handle the five million transfer so smoothly and quickly. He had started pretending and saying that he didn’t need to give that much, suggesting that he should return a portion of the money back to Zhong Yi .
Seeing through this trickery, Zhong Yi directly rejected Xu Youyou’s request and told her that the extra amount could be considered his appreciation for Rong Mian.
Encountering ups and downs.
Having witnessed such tactics multiple times, Zhong Yi firmly declined Xu Youyou’s proposal and considered the additional amount as his token of appreciation for Rong Mian.
However, Zhong Yi could still feel that Uncle Yun played a role in Rong Mian’s life that went beyond just being a company boss, because Rong Mian’s dependence and attachment to this person were evident in his words, and he never concealed it.
This made Zhong Yi feel a bit uncomfortable.
So he paused for a moment, took Rong Mian’s phone, and hastily took two or three photos.
When Zhong Yi returned the phone to Rong Mian, he awkwardly asked, “Are you … that close with this boss?”
Uncle Yun looked through the photos and said, “Yes.”
“I was hungry all the time, starving every day.”
Rong Mian said, “Uncle Yun gave me food and also gave me a home.”
Rong Mian’s eyes were like a pool of clear water, his eyelashes were soft, and his cheeks were tinted with the ambiguous orange hues of the setting sun.
The salty and cool sea breeze filled the air, and the boy’s profile was serene, and even his earlobes exuding a gentle pink color.
“You have been kind to me too, and you have given me a lot of delicious food.”
Rong Mian tilted his face up and said to Zhong Yi, “Both you and Uncle Yun are people I want to repay.”
Zhong Yi didn’t say anything.
“But you are much more troublesome than Uncle Yun,” Rong Mian added.
Zhong Yi: “….?”
“To repay Uncle Yun, all I need to do is work hard to make money for him,” Rong Mian said earnestly, “But you, you are really difficult. You are so picky.”
Zhong Yi: “It’s not like you made everything clear to me first—”
“Today, I’ve been thinking all day that you are my VIP guest, but I never knew what you wanted,”
Rong Mian said, “You don’t want me to accompany you to sleep, you don’t like being touched by me. You are kind to me, yet it feels like you don’t need anything.”
“You also don’t seem to like it when I kiss you,”
Rong Mian said with frustration, “So I really don’t have anything else to offer you.”
Zhong Yi: “It’s not—”
Rong Mian pondered for a while and suddenly said with some excitement, “Then today, let me give you a gift.”
Zhong Yi still didn’t understand what was going on. He watched as Rong Mian lowered his head again, focusing his gaze on the sea, and remained silent.
“I’m not picky, I just have my own pace,” Zhong Yi cleared his throat and began his classic speech, “I like to take things slowly, and I have never said that I dislike—”
Before he could finish his sentence, Zhong Yi saw Rong Mian suddenly blink her eyes. Then, he swiftly reached out his hand towards the water in front of him and clenched it into a fist.
Rong Mian then raised his hand and slowly opened his palm. Zhong Yi saw that in his palm, there was a very small, almost transparent, fish.
Rong Mian’s actions of catching the fish with his bare hands were smooth and seamless, without the use of any fishing tools. He directly and accurately caught the almost invisible fish, agile and skillful.
Zhong Yi was speechless for a while.
