The Nutrition is Too Good - Chap 29.2
Shen Yan and Zhong Yi chatted for a while and then went upstairs to their own rooms. Zhong Yi turned around and saw Rong Mian holding the bag of jelly, saying something to Kong Sandou.
Then Kong Sandou nodded.
Rong Mian didn’t eat the bag of jelly. On the contrary, he directly handed the whole bag of jelly to Kong Sandou.
Kong Sandou took it, sniffed the packaging bag, nodded, solemnly said a few words to Rong Mian, and then walked away with the bag of jelly.
Zhong Yi was puzzled by what he saw.
He hesitated and walked forward. Just as he was about to ask what was going on, he saw Rong Mian lower his hand and cover his stomach. Then, as if in deep thought, he turned his head and met Zhong Yi’s gaze.
“I just saw a poster in the elevator,”
Rong Mian quickly changed the subject before Zhong Yi could react. “The restaurant on the third floor here has crabs to eat.”
Zhong Yi: “…”
Rong Mian continued, “And the crab there looks really big. It seems like it’s already peeled, based on the picture I saw.”
Zhong Yi: “…”
Rong Mian pursed his lips. “I’m not saying that I want to eat it. I mean, if you want to eat it, I’m willing to accompany you.”
Zhong Yi: “…Thank you.”
Indeed, the crab was quite large, but there was no waiter to help peel it.
Rong Mian stared at the orange-red cooked crab in front of him for ten seconds. After a moment of hesitation, Rong Mian stretched out his hand and poked the crustacean’s hard shell.
Then Rong Mian showed a very displeased expression.
“I suddenly don’t feel like eating anymore.”
Rong Mian softly said, “I’ll give it all to you to eat.”
Zhong Yi’s head was pounding, “Bring it to me within three seconds.”
So Rong Mian happily carried the plate and sat next to Zhong Yi.
The tools for peeling crabs were quite complete, and Zhong Yi peeled for half an hour with an expressionless face. Rong Mian, sitting beside him, happily held the crab claws that Zhong Yi had peeled for him and ate them in small bites for half an hour.
Later, whether it was because he was full or his conscience kicked in, Rong Mian dipped the crab meat that Zhong Yi had peeled into ginger vinegar and raised it back to Zhong Yi’s mouth, saying earnestly, “You eat.”
Zhong Yi paused for a moment and took a bite.
Rong Mian stared at Zhong Yi’s profile for a while, as if he had discovered a new continent. Then, he quickly picked up a few chopsticks of vegetables and held them to Zhong Yi’s mouth, softly saying, “You eat.”
Zhong Yi was indeed a little hungry. He continued to peel the crab with one hand, turned his head, and took another bite.
Rong Mian’s eyes brightened, and he picked up several more chopsticks, all of which Zhong Yi ate.
Feeding Zhong Yi gave Rong Mian a sense of accomplishment.
Finally, Rong Mian curiously poked the sea urchin and egg soup in front of him with a spoon because he had never eaten such a strange creature before. So, he simply lifted the whole spiky sea urchin and brought it to Zhong Yi’s mouth.
Zhong Yi: “…That’s enough.”
Throughout the meal, Zhong Yi was busy with his own tasks, and the few bites of food that Rong Mian fed him were not nearly enough. But for some reason, he felt a slight warmth in his chest.
Rong Mian nodded and slowly placed the egg soup back on the table. As he began to contemplate how to start eating, his own phone rang.
Rong Mian answered the call, and Zhong Yi could hear him making a few affirmative sounds.
Then, he quickly hung up the phone, stood up, and happily said to Zhong Yi, “Sandou said she found Shen Yan’s necklace, right on the beach. I’m going to find her first.”
Zhong Yi watched as Rong Mian disappeared through the restaurant door, feeling stunned for a moment.
Rong Mian just went crazy running in the sea this afternoon. He even sneezed at that time. And now he was running outside again wearing thin clothes. The wind by the seaside in the afternoon is already a bit chilly, let alone now in the late evening. The temperature is probably going to be even lower.
Zhong Yi paused for a moment, wiped his hands with a wet towel, sighed, settled the bill, and followed Rong Mian out of the restaurant.
The hotel was near the beach, but due to the dim lighting and the night, the scenery appeared hazy. Only the cool and salty breeze of the sea lingered around their noses.
Zhong Yi began to look for someone.
Fortunately, after the sky darkened, there were hardly any tourists on the beach, and because Rong Mian happened to be wearing a white shirt, Zhong Yi spotted him at a glance.
Then Zhong Yi suddenly stopped in his tracks.
—Because Zhong Yi also saw the dog. The black Shiba Inu that had disappeared into the sea two days ago while he was lost in thought was now standing in front of Rong Mian.
The Shiba Inu had something in its mouth, but Zhong Yi couldn’t see clearly. He watched as the Shiba Inu wagged its tail happily in front of Rong Mian, as if it were trying to take credit.
Then Zhong Yi saw Rong Mian reach out and affectionately pat the Shiba Inu’s head.
For a moment, Zhong Yi felt his mind spinning.
Too many fragments of information floated in his mind, but he couldn’t piece them together. Zhong Yi began to feel a chill down his spine.
First of all, this black Shiba Inu was indeed the same dog he had seen on the beach before. Its silly and round appearance and body shape were impossible for Zhong Yi to mistake, it was definitely the same one.
And what Rong Mian had just said was, “Sandou said she found the necklace, right on the beach.” But at this moment, besides Rong Mian and Zhong Yi himself, there was no third person on the beach.
Except for this cheerful dog.
At the same time, the black Shiba Inu happily ran around Rong Mian, and the object it held in its mouth subtly reflected light.
Zhong Yi finally saw what it was.
A rose gold necklace with a diamond-studded teardrop pendant hanging from it.
Zhong Yi felt his brain go blank, unable to make sense of it, unable to understand.
He remembered that day when the black Shiba Inu disappeared into the sea, and coincidentally, he saw Kong Sandou, drenched and as if she had just finished swimming, not far away under a coconut tree.
However, the only possibility left to explain this current phenomenon was so absurd and ridiculous that Zhong Yi didn’t even dare to think about it.
It must be fake.
Trembling, Zhong Yi took a deep breath.
He began to forcibly convince himself in his heart: Maybe Rong Mian, just like himself that day, happened to encounter this dog, and then this dog happened to appear here and happened to find Shen Yan’s necklace. I believe in Darwin, I believe in science, so all of this must be just a coincidence…
But in the next second, Zhong Yi saw Rong Mian bow his head and gently rub the Shiba Inu’s head.
“Sandou.”
Zhong Yi heard Rong Mian say, “Let go, I think we might need to wash the necklace before returning it.”
