The Nutrition is Too Good - Chap 35 Like
On the tongue of feline animals, there naturally grow small barbs.
When it brushed against Zhong Yi’s fingertips, the slightly itchy and moist sensation felt like an electric current passing through, causing Zhong Yi to involuntarily tremble.
Even more terrifying was that Zhong Yi began to uncontrollably imagine what it would be like if it were Rong Mian himself doing this. What kind of scene would it be?
Would he also look at me innocently and gently, raising his face and then lowering his gaze, slowly approaching my fingertips, extending his tongue…
Zhong Yi felt his breathing becoming somewhat heavy.
The little black cat didn’t know what Zhong Yi was thinking. It just lowered its head, trying to please him, and licked Zhong Yi’s palm.
After a while, it seemed to raise its head with a hint of expectation, looking at Zhong Yi as if waiting for him to do something.
But Zhong Yi didn’t understand, so he hesitantly reached out his hand and touched its head.
Seeing that Zhong Yi still didn’t understand its intention, the black cat tilted its head and stared at Zhong Yi for a while. After a moment, it could only lower its head in disappointment and softly meow.
Then Zhong Yi watched as its tail flicked and it jumped off the sofa, running upstairs.
Zhong Yi seemed to have some understanding of why Rong Mian’s way of doing things and speaking had become so bold.
The seemingly straightforward and blunt behavior from before might have been nothing more than the innocence of small animals, lacking the smoothness and tact of humans in handling things.
For example, when Rong Mian first showcased his talent of taking off his pants in front of Zhong Yi in the bathroom, then enthusiastically suggested sleeping together later on, and now licking Zhong Yi’s fingers, he was simply doing things that are often done in the world of small animals to express friendliness.
Unbeknownst to him, from Zhong Yi’s perspective as a human, each of these actions resembled some kind of significant implication, something that would take him a long time to digest emotionally.
Zhong Yi let out a breath, lowered his head, and pinched his own fingertips.
Five minutes later, Rong Mian slowly walked downstairs.
He changed into loose pajamas, his hair slightly messy, and stood at the staircase, staring at Zhong Yi from a distance without saying a word.
After a while, Rong Yan finally said to Zhong Yi, “The sausages and bacon haven’t expired. You remembered it wrong, so I haven’t eaten them these past two days.”
Of course, Zhong Yi knew that they hadn’t expired because it was just a lie he casually made up at the time to test whether Rong Mian would continue to stay at home.
Zhong Yi paused for a moment and said, “Then tonight, I’ll fry some more for you to eat.”
Rong Mian looked at him and hummed softly.
So the two of them started to busy themselves in the kitchen.
Rong Mian noticed that the reason why Zhong Yi’s sausages were tastier than his own was because Zhong Yi would use a knife to make parallel cuts on the sausages before frying them.
Rong Mian asked him why he did it that way, and Zhong Yi said that it would make them crispier and more flavorful, and it would also make them look more appetizing.
Rong Mian thought Zhong Yi was really amazing.
Although Rong Mian was more likely to be a hindrance in the kitchen, Zhong Yi knew that he was not the type to sit idle, so he assigned him the task of making lemonade.
Rong Mian carefully selected a lemon with a pleasant aroma and spent fifteen minutes slicing it into evenly thick slices. Then he steeped the lemon slices in hot water, and they tumbled around in the cup.
Finally, Rong Mian sniffed his fingers, which were covered in lemon juice, wrinkled his face, and then washed his hands for a long time.
Dinner began in silence.
Rong Mian lowered his head, picked up his chopsticks, and silently started devouring the sausages at an almost one-bite-per-second speed. Zhong Yi could tell that this person had indeed gone crazy with craving these past few days.
This time, Zhong Yi really wouldn’t stop Rong Mian from eating meat, but he couldn’t help but feel that if this eating speed continued, there would be a risk of choking.
So Zhong Yi brought up a topic, asking Rong Mian what he had been doing these past few days, indirectly trying to slow down his eating speed a bit.
Rong Mian swallowed, put down his chopsticks, and thought for a moment.
“I went to the cat cafe once, helped Uncle Yun choose new desserts. There were mousse and cheesecakes.”
Rong Mian paused, then observed Zhong Yi’s expression and added softly, “I didn’t accompany any guests, I just stayed there for a day.”
The words “accompany guests” made Zhongyi’s heart skip a beat subconsciously. After a while, he reacted and couldn’t help feeling a bit helpless, simply saying, “…Mousse sounds really delicious.”
Rong Mian nodded. “I also spent a long time reading a script and playing games.”
“I cleared all the levels in the game with three stars.”
Rong Mian took out his phone, opened the game interface, and proudly showed it to Zhong Yi. “But you have to watch a lot of ads, and you can’t skip them.”
Rong Mian continued to talk about many things, slowly sharing the small details of his life with Zhong Yi, including the dandelions he saw in the garden and the lotus flower patterns he found carved on the bathroom tiles.
As Zhong Yi listened, the corners of his mouth couldn’t help but curl up.
Saying that he was tired, he lowered his head again and slowly picked up a small sausage to stuff into his mouth.
Zhong Yi was really curious. He wondered if the taste of this ordinary sausage, sold in the supermarket’s refrigerated section, could really be that good.
So he hesitated for a moment, but in the end couldn’t resist picking up the chopsticks and taking a bite. He thought the taste was just average, maybe a bit too greasy.
At the same time, Rong Mian, who had just finished inhaling for the second round, lifted his eyes and looked at Zhong Yi, saying seriously, “Zhong Yi, it’s been four days since you last kissed me.”
Just as Zhong Yi was about to swallow the sausage, he suddenly choked, unable to breathe. He paused for three seconds, then started coughing violently.
‘Oh no’.
Zhong Yi thought dazedly, this is really terrible.
Do all the kittens in the world have this straightforward temperament, or is it just the one sitting in front of me… that is a bit more special?
Zhong Yi could only took a sip of lemonade to cover up the situation, and let the lump in his throat go down. After a while, he said, “… Wasn’t I out of town for the past couple of days?”
Rong Mian responded with an “oh” sound.
Rong Mian paused for a moment and, following Zhong Yi’s lead, lowered his head to drink the lemonade in his cup for a while.
Then Zhong Yi saw the person’s face scrunch up a bit, staring at the lemon slice stuck to the side of the cup for a moment. Suddenly, he looked up and said, “Well, you can make up for it now.”
Zhong Yi didn’t even have time to react, and Rong Mian put down his cup. He lowered his eyes, appearing somewhat sad.
He asked softly, “Zhong Yi, why don’t you want to kiss me anymore?”
For a while, Zhong Yi couldn’t utter a complete sentence.
Zhong Yi had been thinking about it for the past couple of days. His original plan was to give it a couple of days after he returned and then find a better moment to bring up this topic.
But Rong Mian was not someone who could hide his feelings. Zhong Yi realized that today, they had to have a clear conversation about this matter.
“I… It’s not that I don’t want to kiss you,” Zhong Yi said.
Zhong Yi sighed and continued, “Of course I want to, but I’m not sure if I can still kiss you now because I don’t know… if I’m taking advantage of you unilaterally.”
Rong Mian looked at Zhong Yi’s face with a bewildered expression.
Zhong Yi paused for a moment, seemingly struggling.
“First of all, this is not your fault,” Zhong Yi carefully chose his words, and he repeated to Rong Mian once again, “You’re fine, everything about you is fine, whether in human form… or in cat form, you’re adorable and good-looking.”
“But Rong Mian, you’re a cat, and I’m a person who has lived for thirty years,”
Zhong Yi said, “I know you’re intelligent, but we might still have some differences in our understanding of things and emotions.”
“I can understand everything,”
Rong Mian looked at Zhong Yi, stiffly saying, “I just understand that it takes a bit longer for me to comprehend the script, but that doesn’t mean I don’t understand.”
Zhong Yi knew he couldn’t argue with him.
So he simply put down his cup and asked directly, “Then tell me, in your eyes, what is the difference between me and the guests in the cat cafe?”
Rong Mian looked at Zhong Yi and said, “There is a significant difference.”
“When I’m in the cat cafe, some guests have a perfume scent on them, which I don’t like, but some guests are gentler and even give me tasty cat treats.”
Rong Mian clumsily expressed many things, “But in my heart, you’re better than all of them. I just want to be with you, and being with you makes me happier.”
Zhong Yi paused for a moment and hummed softly.
He asked again, “So, in your eyes, what does it mean to kiss?”
Rong Mian clearly appeared confused for a moment.
He looked at Zhong Yi, his expression becoming somewhat hesitant, and his voice grew quieter, “It means… if you like me, you will kiss me.”
“So you must like me.”
Rong Mian said with certainty.
After a moment, he added, “Because I also really like you, so if you kiss me, I will feel very happy.”
Zhong Yi simply nodded calmly.
He asked again, “Can you tell the difference between the affection I have for you and the guests who give you tasty cat treats?”
Rong Mian felt that Zhong Yi was really strange today.
He suddenly asked many obscure and difficult questions, but Rong Mian’s mind couldn’t catch up for a moment.
While playing at the trendy nail salon this afternoon, Rong Mian took a long time to choose a suitable rhinestone style, so he couldn’t answer such a difficult question at all.
“There is a difference…”
But Rong Mian couldn’t say what the difference was at that moment, so he looked at Zhong Yi with a puzzled expression and hesitantly said, “You, you said you really like my tail, but I don’t know…”
Zhong Yi sighed almost imperceptibly.
“The first type of liking is when a guest likes a small animal.”
Zhong Yi patiently explained, “For these guests, if they switch to any small animal in any cat cafe, as long as they are fluffy enough, cute enough, and obedient enough, they can express countless likes and kisses like this.”
“But the reason I kissed you before was not because I am your guest, and it wasn’t because you have a beautiful tail.”
Zhong Yi took a deep breath, “It’s because in my eyes, you are also an independent person, you have your own personality and soul, and these are precisely the reasons why I like you.”
With the words spoken up to this point, Zhong Yi felt a sudden relief, and he finally wouldn’t hesitate to express the feelings hidden deep in his heart.
“So even if a cat with nine tails, no matter how beautiful, stands in front of me now, I won’t have the same feeling for it.”
Zhong Yi said, “I wouldn’t risk getting oil stains on my shirt just after getting off the plane and coming home to personally fry this plate of frozen sausages for you.”
Rong Mian stared at him blankly, while Zhong Yi just looked at him and smiled casually.
He asked Rong Mian again, “Do you know what a kiss between two humans can also mean?”
“It means my liking for you, not the playful kind between cats, dogs, and humans, but a genuine liking that desires to have a sexual relationship with you.”
Zhong Yi looked into Rong Mian’s eyes and asked him, “Do you understand?”
