Just as GuQingPei was concentrating on work, YuanYang was tirelessly urging his comrade to catch the thief.
His comrade is also powerless. To mobilize such large number of resources for such a small theft incident worth merely just tens of thousands is beyond his authority. The case had been dragging on and off. YuanYang had no other option than to seek out all his social networks to send out more people to the second-hand IT markets in hoping that the thief would sell his laptop.
But even a week later, they were empty handed. Not only that, his dad was alerted of the matter.
When YuanLiJiang called him that day, YuanYang was awfully busy at work.
YuanYang gloomily answered, “Hey, Dad.”
“I heard that you lost something.”
“How do you know?”
“Weren’t you looking for Xiao Zhang? Xiao Zhang specially called me. Just for this, you’re making people work overtime for you. But how could your laptop be lost in GuQingPei’s home?” When YuanLiJiang heard of this incident, he felt that it was particularly strange. Why is YuanYang’s computer in GuQingPei’s home?
YuanYang silently cursed that bastard Chief Zhang. He clearly told him not to tell others. In the end, this guy still went to tell his old man, likely to get some credit. “Does GuQingPei know?”
“He, um, he knows.”
“He didn’t even tell me. I’m guessing that it’s nothing particularly important. Stop wasting anymore resources. Overturning the entire Beijing city just to find laptop is simply outrageous.”
“Dad, can you not meddle in this?”
YuanLiJiang retorted furiously, “Sounding as if I’m wanting to meddle in your matters. Oh yeah, didn’t you say that Song SuJi’s granddaughter is good. How come you didn’t respond when she tried to invite you out? The call even went to my office.”
“Don’t like her.”
“Isn’t she quite good? You still don’t like?”
“I don’t like means I don’t like. Stop trying to introduce anymore girls to me, it’s annoying.”
“Do you already have a girlfriend?”
GuQingPei’s face suddenly emerged in front of YuanYang’s eyes. He responded vaguely, “Yeah.”
“Really? Take her home so we can see her.”
“It’s not sure yet, don’t babble this to mom.”
“Fine, matters with you young people, I really don’t care. But keep this in mind clearly, not everyone can enter the door to our Yuan home. Don’t bring any messed up person back.”
YuanYang felt these words weighing heavily in his heart. He felt both guilty and annoyed, “I know, gonna hang up. You don’t have to worry about the laptop.”
Just when he hung up the phone, GuQingPei’s voice sounded from the other end, “YuanYang, come here for a bit.”
YuanYang push the door and went into the office. GuQingPei glanced at him, “Take these reimbursement orders to Finance and have Zhang Xia make the hotel reservation. There will be important guests to receive tomorrow night. Then, give another call to WangJin’s secretary to schedule a time that we are both free for a meal this week. Noon time is fine too.”
YuanYang grabbed the documents, looking at the thick pile of reimbursement bills inside and then look at the big pile of application forms waiting for his (GuQingPei) approval, just seeing all that is making him exhausted.
GuQingPei lifted his head to look and him again, pushing his glasses, “Why are you still not going yet?”
“You didn’t even take any rest; you’ve been working overtime for a few days.”
“What’s wrong? Can’t keep up?”
“Me? I am afraid that you can’t keep up.”
“This amount of work is nothing.” GuQingPei took off his glasses and rubbed his eyebrows, smiling as he joked, “Why, feeling heartache for me?”
“Yeah,” YuanYang said without hesitation.
GuQingPei is stunned, wanting to laugh but didn’t feel that it was appropriate, his expression became a bit strange.
“My dad’s only paying your salary, it’s not like you contracted to be his slave, why are you working so hard.”
“To be able to see the innovation and growth of a business venture is very fulfilling.” GuQingPei touched his chin and squinted his eyes ahead, “I’ve set a goal for myself and that is to have this company listed in the stock market within three years. This schedule is very aggressive so how can I achieve that if I don’t work overtime?”
YuanYang pinched his face, “What about our vacation? When are you actually going to have time for it?”
“New year’s almost here, how about we take a week off during the New Years, ok?”
YuanYang happily laughed, “I’ll plan the destination.”
“Okay.”
YuanYang bent down and ruffled his hair, then softly uttered, “It’ll just be the two of us.”
GuQingPei clutched his chin and kissed him, “Just us.”
The two of them kissed heartily for a while before YuanYang took the folder and went out.
GuQingPei touched his lips and continuously reflect on the warming gentle kiss just now.
Everything seems so perfect right now. Not only is his career going smoothly but his relationship with YuanYang is also becoming more and more stable. Although their relationship is actually the most terrifying time bomb, but he has no time for matters that can happen far in the future. Thinking about it will just increase his worries. At least for the moment, he feels quite … contented.
As for the vacation that YuanYang mentioned, he also began to look forward to it.
When YuanYang was about to get off work, he received a call from his comrade informing him that the suspect’s image was captured in a surveillance camera installed by a jewelry store on some street.
Although the surveillance camera in their neighborhood captured the thief, but he covered his face so it’s not clear. After turning a street, perhaps, he laxed his vigilance or that he didn’t want to look too suspicious walking in the street with his face covered, so he took off his sunglasses. His face was captured by another surveillance camera. Even though the image is not very clear, but his facial features are still recognizable.
After YuanYang heard this news, he could no longer concentrate on work, dropping everything that he was working on, he rushed to the police station.

When it was time to get off work, GuQingPei called to ask him where he went and why he left work without reason.
YuanYang randomly made up an excuse and asked if there was some matter that came up.
GuQingPei said, “The last time at XX City, even though main culprit was not caught, several people were involved in the company’s criminal acts that were caught. The case will go to court next year. The other party’s attorney sent a Letter of Understanding and listed some conditions in hoping that we can sign it. Come back and take a look.”
“Understanding my ass. The harsher the punishment, the better.”
“I also don’t intend to sign it, but you still have to look at it and then bring it back to Chairman Yuan. The ultimate decision maker is him. With this matter, I can’t make the decision on his behalf.”

GuQingPei reacted, “What happened?”
“Oh, emergency brake, it’s nothing.” YuanYang swung his head. He remembered the face in the camera and realized why he thought that it was familiar. He has seen the photos of several people in charge of this company. This thief is the nephew of their judicial person, the real boss of the company!
The one who sent people to attack them in the middle of the street is the leader, who has been mixed with the gangster world since he was a bit over 10 years old and had yet to have clean up his criminal background.
YuanYang quickly hung up the phone; his entire body exuding cold sweat.
He clenched tightly on the steering wheel and sped home quickly.
He remembered that this person is call LiuQiang. This surname Liu can easily enter GuQingPei’s home. Even if the lock was changed, that wouldn’t even deter him. It’s too dangerous! He actually let GuQingPei stay home alone!
This person obviously targeted to burglarize GuQingPei’s home; he likely wanted to get something from GuQingPei that could be used as blackmail. His father’s side is too guarded so he probably can’t attempt there, so instead strike from GuQingPei’s side.
That laptop…
YuanYang didn’t dare to think about it. He must find this bastard as soon as possible! If the video leaked out, there is no way he can forgive himself.
While speeding on the road, he called his comrade and told him of his findings, asking him to investigate immediately. This person must still have relatives and friends, but it would be impossible to contact everyone. However, as long as they can identify the suspect, it will be much easier to investigate.
YuanYang really did not expect that after finding out the identity of the thief, it did not make him feel relaxed, but instead his mood was even heavier.
After arriving home, he quickly rushed up to their floor and opened the door; seeing GuQingPei on the phone finally made him feel relieved.
GuQingPei hung up the phone and looked at him strangely, “What’s wrong, why are you gasping?”
“Nothing, have you eaten?”
“Not yet.”
“What do you want to eat?”
GuQingPei thought for a moment, “The meatball you made last time is good. Let’s eat that today.”
YuanYang smiled, “Okay, let’s go, go with me to the supermarket to buy things.”
“Go by yourself. I still have things to do.”
“No, you go with me.”
GuQingPei teased him, “You need someone to go with you just to buy some stuff, how old are you?”
“I don’t trust you staying home alone.”
“Huh? Why?”
“We’ve just been burglarized, the security and the locks in this neighborhood is not too reliable.” YuanYang pulled him up from the sofa and hugged his waist, “I only believe in my own eyes and can feel safe when I can see you.”
GuQingPei smiled softly, “Fine, I’ll go with you.”
