You! Don’t Press that Button! - Chap 102
I slowly opened my eyes and looked at Karhan. His transparent, shimmering silver-gray eyes met mine. Carefully, I reached out and placed my hand on Karhan’s eye area. Each time my thumb barely grazed his skin, those beautiful silver-gray eyes disappeared from view.
How many deaths must these eyes have witnessed?
The meaning behind Ruzel’s words to me gradually sank in. Given that he had warned me like that, Ruzel, being an elf, must have a lifespan similar to Karhan’s. For whatever reason, Ruzel had spoken indirectly. The deeper I got with Karhan, the more it would hurt him.
Karhan waited until the end for me to speak first. Swallowing a sigh inwardly, I asked cautiously:
“Did Karhan have lovers before?”
“I did have a lover quite some time ago.”
“Can I ask how you broke up?”
Karhan’s lips, which had been answering without hesitation, suddenly stopped moving. For some reason, I felt as if my pounding heart had stopped along with them. I thought that perhaps ending things quickly before our bond deepened further and returning to my own world might be the happy ending for both of us.
After staring down at me for a moment, Karhan lowered his head and pressed his forehead against mine.
“I understand what you’re worried about, but I think it’s unnecessary concern.”
“Ruzel said that the one left behind suffers.”
“Do you trust his words more than mine?”
“…That’s not what I meant.”
As I spoke in a weak voice, Karhan smiled faintly and gently pressed his lips against mine. It wasn’t a deep kiss, but a light one that felt like soft cloth brushing against my skin. Once lightly, then once more. As I tilted my head slightly, Karhan parted his lips a little and licked my lips with his tongue. It felt ticklish, like a baby animal licking, and I couldn’t help but giggle.
“I wish every day could be filled with laughter like this.”
“I think that could happen if Karhan listens to me well.”
“If you promise to stay by my side, I’ll obey any order.”
If I just stay by his side…
Today seems like it will be a day full of worries.
🐤
Even as I spent my days busy with concerns, Ruzel’s actions that unsettled my heart did not cease. After leaving me with what felt like a declaration of war, he kept appearing close to Karhan, which I couldn’t help but notice. Whenever I visited the office, Ruzel always occupied the seat opposite Karhan.
It was the same now. I was trying to find peace of mind by drinking tea in the garden when I spotted Karhan and Ruzel chatting intimately by the fountain in the distance.
I gritted my teeth, clutching my clothes as if I might tear them. He’s probably taking Karhan there knowing I’m watching from here, right? Karhan didn’t reject Ruzel, as if conversing with him was part of his duties. Although I knew Karhan would draw the line himself, I still felt uneasy.
From afar, they looked like a well-matched pair of handsome men. I thought I was quite good-looking myself, but compared to Ruzel the elf, I was just an ordinary bird-folk.
Unable to interfere with Karhan’s work, I glanced at them furtively from a secluded corner of the garden. They weren’t holding hands, but they were standing quite close, gazing at the fountain. Suddenly, Ruzel turned towards Karhan and carefully raised his heels. The distance between them, which had been about two steps apart, gradually closed.
“W-what are you doing…”
I abruptly stood up. The chair supporting me and the tea set on the table crashed to the ground with a loud clatter. Despite the noise, they seemed not to hear it, creating a world of their own. Even though Karhan took a small step back, Ruzel’s approach didn’t stop.
“No!”
Not a kiss! What kind of work involves that!
I ran towards them hurriedly. The servant standing behind me reached out urgently, but I was much faster as I bolted from my seat. In my haste to prevent their contact, I didn’t see the small protruding stone at my feet and tumbled ungracefully to the ground.
“Ah!”
Would it make a splashing sound? No, a thud might be more appropriate. With a sound like my knees cracking, I rolled on the hard ground. Oh no, this is terrible. Having done a forward roll in front of Ruzel and Karhan and ending up face down, I couldn’t bring myself to lift my head.
How embarrassing…
Despite hitting my knee hard on the ground when I fell, I couldn’t feel any pain. I wasn’t sure if it was fortunate, or if the embarrassment enveloping my entire body had overcome the pain. Instead, the silence hanging in the air painfully pricked my skin.
If only I had fainted, I could have pretended not to remember later. Unable to bear the silence while sprawled on the ground, I started to slowly raise my upper body when Karhan’s hand suddenly appeared before my eyes. I closed my eyes for a moment, soothing my rapidly beating heart, then grasped his hand and stood up.
“Are you alright? Are you hurt anywhere?”
“I’m fine…”
Except for feeling extremely embarrassed right now, I was fine. Despite my answer, Karhan bowed his head and examined my body. When he saw the blood flowing thickly from my knee, he frowned slightly and clicked his tongue.
“We need to treat this. Claude, take him and—”
“No!”
A high-pitched voice filled with irritation echoed through the peaceful garden. Startled by how loudly my own shout had come out, I quickly shut my mouth. Karhan, not expecting such a sudden refusal, swallowed the rest of his words. As silence fell once again, Ruzel’s voice was heard.
“Oh my… There’s a lot of blood. It could be serious if not treated quickly.”
As I raised my gaze from the ground to look at Ruzel, I saw his eyebrows curved in apparent concern. But I was certain that the hand covering his mouth was hiding a smile. I ground my teeth slightly and looked up at Karhan, who was examining me with worry.
I saw his silver-gray eyes focused solely on me, his brows furrowed with concern. His tightly closed lips urged me to receive treatment soon. As those lips slowly parted, I spoke first.
“Karhan. You said you’d give me assurance, right?”
“…Yes.”
“Kiss me right here, right now.”
It doesn’t have to be a happy ending. I felt that if I didn’t have Karhan now, I wouldn’t be happy.
As I tugged on Karhan’s wrist and spoke, his eyes widened. The slight tremor around his eyes soon curved into a gentle smile.
“If that’s what you want, I can do more than just a kiss.”
Karhan’s head gradually lowered, approaching me. As he drew closer, I slowly closed my eyes. Just before they shut completely, I saw through the narrow gap Ruzel standing stiffly. I gave him a sweet smile, as if to show off, before focusing on Karhan.
The moment Karhan’s soft lips pressed against mine, I heard angry footsteps gradually receding from beside us. Even with my eyes closed, I knew those footsteps belonged to Ruzel. A deep sense of satisfaction at having repelled my rival surged from my toes to the top of my head.
I reached out and wrapped my arms around Karhan’s neck. As we gently parted our lips, Karhan spoke in a joyful voice:
“Are you at ease now?”
“Yes. Extremely.”
As I burst into giggles, Karhan also let out a rare audible laugh. His low laughter rose up, tickling the tip of my nose.
“Does this give you the assurance you needed?”
“You said it was unnecessary worry. So I decided to be a bit greedy.”
Even if later on he changes his mind and says he doesn’t need me anymore, I couldn’t help it. Even if it meant being alone again… right now, it felt like I couldn’t do without Karhan. If I returned to my world like this, I felt my heart would be full of regret, so I couldn’t let go.
As my face bloomed with a big smile, Karhan lightly pressed his lips to mine once more before pulling away.
“Promise me you’ll stay by my side for life.”
Saying this, he awkwardly spread out his thumb and pinky finger and held them out to me. It was the promise-making gesture I had taught him. Oh my. He still remembered what I had taught him before the social gathering.
Finding it both fascinating and ticklish, I stared blankly at his fingers. Karhan’s pinky slowly began to curl inward. Finding his fingers, gradually losing confidence, adorable, I hugged him tightly and burst into laughter. As I rested my head on his shoulder and giggled at his fingers, Karhan tilted his hand slightly. Before that hand could disappear out of embarrassment, I quickly linked my fingers with his. As we slowly swayed our hands up and down, Karhan spoke:
“Even if you say you don’t want this anymore, I’ll hold onto you for life. I won’t accept any regrets. Are you okay with that?”
“The same goes for you, Karhan.”
That was exactly what I wanted to say.
Karhan narrowed his eyes as he surveyed the smooth back spread out beneath him. The flawless white skin, like fine fabric, made his eyes dizzy.
He lowered his head and pressed his lips to the delicate nape, causing the silver-white hair to tremble. Karhan quietly swallowed a laugh at the bright red ears visible through the strands of hair. Then, starting from the nape, he slowly moved down along the spine.
He reached out to caress the slender waist, then traced each rib as if appreciating them. Every time Karhan’s fingers brushed over a small hollow, Seol’s waist quivered slightly.
“It… tickles…”
As he continued to caress, Seol, face buried in the pillow, whined. Finding the small, round head that moved slightly with each word adorable, Karhan, who had been leaving marks along the spine, moved back up and buried his lips in the hair, leaving another trace.
Haa. The more he touched, the more a parching thirst rose within him. Even as he pressed his lips and fumbled with his hands like this, it wasn’t enough. Like an oasis encountered in a desert, no matter how much he indulged, it was insufficient.
He bared his teeth and gently bit the reddened ear, causing Seol’s body to flinch. As he had noticed during their first intimacy, there were quite a few areas of Seol’s body that were untouched by human hands. Even just the ears, when slightly aroused, would tense up and tremble at the slightest touch. It was fun to discover which areas made Seol tense up, which made the body tremble, and which caused small gasps.
“Hnng…”
After teasing Seol’s earlobe for a while, Karhan moved the hand that had been fiddling with the waist upwards and firmly pressed the lightly pigmented protrusion. This caused the head buried in the pillow to shake from side to side. It was a typical reaction Seol had when feeling pleasure.
“Hik! Ah… ah.”
As he applied pressure with his fingers and twisted the nipple, the knuckles gripping the bedsheet turned white. In the meantime, he playfully pinched the sufficiently hardened tip, twirling it in various directions and kneading the end. Seol’s nape instantly turned bright red.
After such a long time of dedicated attention, as if unable to bear it any longer, the round head suddenly lifted. Taking a deep breath, Seol pushed away Karhan’s arm and turned his head. With a completely flushed face and trembling eyes, it was clear he was feeling both embarrassment and a bit of anger.
“Stop teasing. It feels weird.”
That weird sensation is pleasure too. Karhan held back the insensitive words that almost slipped out and smiled ambiguously. He raised his upper body, which had been crushing Seol’s, and reached out to grasp the slender wrist. Carefully, so as not to hurt, but with a strength that couldn’t be resisted, he made Seol lean back against his chest.
Suddenly finding himself crouched in place, Seol’s wings fluttered. The cute wings tickled Karhan’s chest, stirring his lust.
Karhan exhaled a deep breath, feeling the warm body temperature. The round head right in front of him moved back and forth before turning. Captivated by the flushed cheeks and lips, he unconsciously parted his lips and bit the round cheek as if biting into a fruit.
“Ouch.”
Seol, who had never had his cheek bitten before, instinctively exaggerated the pain. Why are you eating my still cheek? Blinking in confusion, he frowned as he felt the lips pressed against his cheek slowly curve into a smile.
“What are you doing?”
“You looked like a ripe fruit. I couldn’t help but take a bite.”
Karhan let out a light laugh filled with joy as he slowly lowered the hand embracing Seol to caress the inside of his soft thigh. Seol’s thigh trembled slightly at the sudden contact. Finding it even more appetizing than the cheek he had just tasted, Karhan narrowed his eyes.
